Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has stirred reactions on social media after revealing that he loves his wife more than his children.
The actor made the remark while speaking during an appearance on the Masplantion podcast, where he shared his views on love, commitment and family priorities.
According to him, although he deeply cares for his children, his wife, Toyosi Phillips, remains his top priority.
“I mean, that’s a good question. I would say yes. I love my wife more than my children,” he said.
“My wife comes first before my children, although they have a really special place in my heart.”
Effiong explained that prioritising his wife reflects his belief in building a strong marital foundation, which he considers essential for maintaining a healthy and stable family.
According to him, nurturing the relationship between husband and wife is key to sustaining a happy home while raising children.
The actor’s comments have since sparked debate online, with many Nigerians sharing mixed reactions to his views on family dynamics.
While some praised his honesty and commitment to his marriage, others questioned the idea of placing a spouse above one’s children.
