Nigerian TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has shared blunt financial advice for young couples ahead of her upcoming white wedding with fellow TikTok star Peller.
Speaking during a recent livestream, the influencer urged Nigerian youths to resist societal pressure and avoid rushing into marriage without solid financial stability. To manage the high costs associated with weddings, Jarvis suggested that couples should consider spacing out their ceremonies across different years rather than rushing to do everything at once.
“If you don’t have money, don’t get married. Don’t try it, I beg you. But if you are planning of getting married, you can share it by doing traditional wedding this year and do the white wedding the next year.” Jarvis said
Overcoming the financial pressure of wedding planning
Jarvis admitted that the financial and planning logistics for her own wedding were so intense that she and Peller almost postponed the event. She noted that no matter how much time a couple gives themselves to prepare, the process will always feel overwhelming, which is why financial readiness is crucial.
The couple, who have become one of the most prominent content creator duos in the country, celebrated their traditional wedding last month in Benin City, Edo State. Peller and Jarvis recently announced that they will officially wrap up their nuptials with their white wedding, scheduled to take place on August 1, 2026.
