American singer and actress Tamar Braxton has spoken openly about her frustration with being single at 48, saying she wants to be married and is ready to let go of her “alpha female” identity.
The Love and War singer made the remarks during an interview with WBLS, where she admitted she is disappointed that she is still unmarried at her age.
Braxton said she believes she is “wife material” and questioned why marriage has not happened for her yet.
“I am a wife material. I am not a streetwalker. I am upset that I am still single. What’s going on?” she said.
According to the singer, her singleness is largely due to not finding the right kind of man. She explained that she desires a good and responsible partner but has been meeting men who do not meet her standards.
“All I want is a good man. That’s my type. I accept only premium guys, but lately I’ve been meeting only regulars,” she said.
Braxton also admitted that her strong personality may have scared men away in the past. She said some men may see her as intimidating and feel unable to approach her.
“My personality can come off as intimidating. Some men may think they can’t meet my standards, so they don’t approach me,” she added.
The 48-year-old singer, however, revealed she is making changes, saying she is working on being softer and more open to love.
“I’m trying to ditch being an alpha female and be more soft. I’m working on it every day,” Braxton said.
Her comments have since sparked reactions online, with many fans weighing in on relationships, marriage, and expectations in modern dating.
