The celebrity couple were among guests at the wedding of Finneas O’Connell, brother of singer Billie Eilish, on Saturday when photographs emerged showing them engaged in a serious-looking exchange.
Images from the event showed Hailey appearing to gesture while speaking with Justin, while the singer was seen listening before the pair later moved away from each other.
The moment quickly attracted attention online, with some observers questioning whether the interaction suggested tension between the couple.
However, there has been no confirmation from Justin or Hailey Bieber that they had an argument or that there was any issue between them.
The couple, who have been married for nearly eight years, have previously faced public speculation about their relationship, despite repeatedly appearing together at public events and sharing moments from their personal lives.
Body language expert offers different interpretation
Body language expert Judi James analysed the images and said the exchange could appear tense based on the couple’s gestures and expressions.
James noted that Hailey’s gestures and Justin’s posture could give the impression of a serious conversation, but added that the images alone did not prove there was conflict between the couple.
“The way that Hailey looks back at her husband as he walks away after their animated conversation gives the impression of tension or drama here,” James said.
He also observed Justin’s posture during the moment, suggesting it could be interpreted as appearing less energetic.
However, the expert cautioned that the exchange may not have been a disagreement and that body language alone cannot determine what happened during a private conversation.
Hailey was also seen pointing and gesturing during the discussion, although reports noted that her gestures were not necessarily directed in a confrontational manner.
Justin and Hailey Bieber have remained one of the entertainment industry’s most closely followed couples since they began dating and later married.
The pair legally married in a New York courthouse in 2018 before holding a larger wedding ceremony in 2019.
They welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024.
