Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his wife, Chioma Adeleke, manages his finances because of his reckless spending habits.
The singer made the disclosure in a video circulating online after he encountered difficulty accessing his account while attempting to send money to his personal assistant, Lati.
Davido subsequently telephoned Chioma and asked her to transfer $4,000 to the aide on his behalf.
“Hello, baby, good morning, my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t log in; I don’t know why. It’s the service here,” he said.
The singer added that he was preparing to return to Nigeria before ending the call with an expression of affection for his wife.
‘She is my life coordinator’
Following the telephone conversation, streamer Davreltv asked Davido whether Chioma had assumed responsibility for managing his money.
The Grammy-nominated singer confirmed the arrangement, admitting that his tendency to spend recklessly made his wife’s intervention necessary.
“Of course. You know I’m a reckless spender. Na she dey arrange everything. Na my life coordinator be that,” Davido replied.
The exchange suggests that Chioma’s role extends beyond handling individual transactions to helping the singer organise his financial and personal affairs.
However, the video does not establish that Davido has surrendered complete control of his accounts. His comments instead portray the arrangement as a financial accountability measure built on trust between the couple.
