Nigerian reality TV star Phyna has marked one year since the death of her sister, expressing grief over the loss and renewing her call for justice over the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
The Big Brother Naija winner shared an emotional tribute online as she reflected on life without her sister and the pain of losing a loved one.
In her message, Phyna said that although many people believe time helps heal grief, the pain of her sister’s absence remains deeply felt.
She also alleged that the driver and parties responsible for the accident that claimed her sister’s life have not faced justice.
“31-08-2025… One year today… Her case was swept under the carpet. It’s been exactly one year since I lost you, my sister, and honestly, I still don’t know how to put into words what your absence has done to me,” she wrote.
Phyna recalled the memories she shared with her sister, describing the difficulty of spending an entire year without hearing her voice, seeing her or experiencing everyday moments together.
She said the loss made her realise how fragile life can be and encouraged people to appreciate the presence of their loved ones.
Phyna recalls sister’s death and calls for accountability
The reality star had previously accused Dangote Group of failing to take responsibility after her sister died in an accident involving a truck linked to the company.
In her tribute, Phyna claimed that the case had not received the justice she expected and alleged that the underage truck driver involved in the incident was still free.
“Dangote Group killed my sister and never looked back; the underage truck driver that killed her walks freely today,” she stated.
Her comments represent her personal account and allegations regarding the incident.
Phyna said she often wished her sister was still alive to witness events in her life and share important moments with her.
“I wish you could see me now. I wish you could see everything happening in my life and how much I wish you were here to experience it with me,” she wrote.
She added that her sister’s memory would continue to remain a part of her life.
“I will carry you with me for the rest of my life, in every achievement, every tear, every smile, and every moment I wish you were here,” she said.
Phyna’s sister died in August 2025 following a road crash involving a Dangote Group truck.
The incident later became a public issue after Phyna accused the company and other parties involved of failing to adequately address the circumstances surrounding her sister’s death.
The reality TV star has continued to speak publicly about her grief and her demand for accountability as she remembers her sister one year after the tragedy.
