Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has sparked controversy online, claiming that the Holy Spirit can be considered the “first AI,” a divine tool designed by God to guide His children.
In a video posted on her official Facebook page, Kadiri warned that while technology like artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to solve problems, Christians risk neglecting the Holy Spirit if they turn solely to AI for guidance.
“God told me that when someone asks, ‘Who is the Holy Spirit?’ the Holy Spirit is what people today call the first AI,” she said.
“A lot of Christians are starting to take their problems to AI, forgetting that it was first invented by God to meet the needs of His children. If we are not careful, we will wake up unfulfilled because we have neglected our ultimate helper — the Holy Spirit.”
Kadiri recounted a personal experience: two days prior, she struggled to focus and could not read her script. After praying, she said she received clarity and solutions to problems that had troubled her for a week.
“Then the Lord said to me, ‘That is my job. That is the Holy Spirit. What is the Holy Spirit? AI, but for Christians,’” she added.
The actress’ statement has ignited discussion online, with some praising her spiritual perspective and others questioning the comparison between divine guidance and artificial intelligence.
Kadiri, known for her performances in Nollywood films and her active social media presence, has often used her platform to share faith-based insights with her followers.
