Nigerian superstar Wizkid's hit single "Joro" has officially been certified Platinum in France by SNEP (Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique), the country's official music certification body. This milestone confirms the track's enduring popularity, as it has surpassed 30 million streams, the required threshold for Platinum status under current SNEP guidelines.

Released on October 1, 2019, "Joro" was produced by Northboi and quickly became a global sensation. The track's success is attributed to its infectious blend of mid-tempo Afrobeat rhythms and memorable melodic hooks, a formula that defined Wizkid's crossover appeal. The official music video for "Joro" has amassed over 330 million views on YouTube, a testament to its widespread appeal and impact.

Beyond France, "Joro" has also achieved significant recognition in other major markets. The single was certified Gold in Canada in 2022, reflecting sales of over 40,000 units. In the United States, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recognized the track's success, making it eligible for Gold certification in November 2024 after surpassing 500,000 units sold.

This Platinum certification in France adds to Wizkid's growing list of international accolades. It marks his fifth SNEP plaque, further cementing his position as a leading figure in the Afrobeats genre. Wizkid's catalog continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, as "Joro" and his other hits accumulate streams and sales years after their initial release.
